Delbert McClinton: 10pm

Born in Lubbock, Texas, Delbert McClinton has been singing R&B, blues, rockabilly, and country for 35 years, starting on the Texas honky-tonk circuit. This soulful, roadhouse-bred musician has enjoyed such distinctions as songwriter, singer, bandleader, and harp player. His name appears in the Book of Lists as one of the top 20 harp players in the world. Delbert won a Grammy in 1991 for his duet with Bonnie Raitt, “Good Man, Good Woman,” and another in 1993 for his duet with Tanya Tucker, entitled “Tell Me About It,”. McClinton’s voice still has the uncanny ability to transport the listener to a dusty Texas barroom that’s soaked in roadhouse blues. Such are his performances at Gruene Hall . . . this Texas musical treasure’s rockin, bluesy style is all his own. And there’s a lot more good rockin’ to come from this enduring, original and ever-soulful artist.
